First October Apple Fest this Saturday and Sunday

The Bayview Leaside BIA is hosting the first-ever October Apple Fest. This festival is a celebration of everything apple to pay tribute to the apple orchards that once graced our neighbourhood, like the Lea and Lawrence family farms. The Lea family maintained a large apple orchard on their 200-acre farm. The Lawrence family farms on the west also boast a rich history in apples.

October Apple Fest will take place this Saturday, October 22 and Sunday October 23 from 11 am to 5 pm along Bayview Avenue from Davisville Avenue to Soudan Avenue. There will be apple décor, apple cider and apple specialties. Feast your eyes on apple street art by the Toronto-based chalk artist Victor (#WhatsVictorUpTo). Listen to the sweet sounds of musicians playing both violin and banjo along Bayview Avenue, as well as a special student duet at Cavatina Violin Studio. Find the apple in your eye in the apple décor created by the Bayview Pixies.

There will be a number of a-peel-ing events and treats from the BIA members including salted apple caramel scones from Lit Espresso Bar, apple martinis at Original’s, apple treats for dogs at the Leaside Animal Clinic, apple spread at Dolce & Gourmando, cold pressed apple juice from Refuel Juice Bar and appletree smoked cheddar at Alex’s Farm Products.

There is also a special kids crafts and Lego drop off event at Bamboo Bay. Kids can build and create apple art for an hour and a half while parents are free to shop and stop for a bite to eat.

Don’t be a crab apple and join the fun at October Apple Fest!
