Premier Wynne and community leaders cut ribbon to open the Go Green Cricket Field

Premier Wynne, local dignitaries and community leaders officially opened the Go Green Cricket Field on Don Mills Rd at Overlea Blvd Thursday evening. The ribbon-cutting in the early evening was a joyous affair held in the centre of the hard-won playing ground. It is the work of many hands and friendly helpers. The weather was spectacular for the opening game, with the second innings going sometime after 7 p.m. The match put the Go Green boys against a police team. The first innings were played earlier in the day. The field and adjacent space was crowded with residents and children of all ages. The atmosphere was buoyant and happy. There were many officers from the Toronto Police Service in ceremonial dress, an attraction for many families who wished to have their children photographed with the policemen and woman.
